This Computer Software Engineering position requires an outgoing candidate with good working knowledge of Visual C++ and Visual Basic for work in computer Vision dealing with tracking and object identification. Small innovative biomedical Instrument Company requires a self-starter. Familiarity with electronics and PC interfacing a plus. The successful applicant will have strong technical writing skills.
Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related discipline.

Electrical Engineer
Location: St. Albans, Vermont
Description: Catamount Research and Development, Inc. seeks a qualified candidate to fill a position for an Electrical Engineer in the Engineering Department of a growing biomedical instrumentation company. Primary responsibilities include sustaining engineering support for existing products, developing electronics for new product designs, test engineering, manufacturing support, and engineering/ manufacturing documentation.
Requirements: A minimum of five years experience as an Electrical Engineer in an electro-mechanical design and manufacturing environment is required. You must have skills in the complete product development cycle from initial design specifications through complete manufacturing documentation. Desired skills include: analog and digital circuit design, schematic capture, analog PCB layout, embedded system development, firmware development, test engineering, and detailed engineering and manufacturing documentation.
Education: Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering.

Mechanical Engineer

Primary responsibilities include determining product requirements, designing parts and assemblies, generating blueprints, performing product testing, and composing documentation. Also required will be the support of manufacturing departments including evaluation of problem reports and engineering change requests, and the creation of engineering change notices. The team member will interface closely with other mechanical engineers, as well as software and electrical engineers, machinists, sales representatives, and staff scientists.
Requirements: The position requires strong skills in electro-mechanical design. This includes experience with solid modeling (preferably Solidworks), blueprint composition, and bills of manufacture. Also important is knowledge of manufacturing processes. Microsoft Office skills are a necessity. A successful candidate will be a motivated team player with excellent communication skills, have a strong technical foundation, have superior attention to detail, and be able to work independently and or with a cross functional group.

Machinist
Location: St. Albans, Vermont
Description: Catamount Research and Development, Inc. seeks a qualified candidate to fill a position for a machinist in the engineering department of a growing biomedical instrumentation company. Primary responsibilities include operating CNC and traditional machines to produce quality prototype and production parts. The position will involve interpreting blueprints and tolerances, generating CNC code, designing jigs and fixtures, building assemblies, and operating equipment, including CNC Vertical Mills, Manual Vertical Mills, and Lathes.
Requirements: The position requires someone with knowledge of machining practices including tool selection, and feeds and speeds. Also required is knowledge of G-Code. Familiarity with CAM programs is a plus. Ability to verify accuracy of parts will be necessary through the use of common measurement tools and techniques.
Education: The candidate must have significant training in the machining trade.
